Jaime Mowers is a Webster Groves native and 2000 graduate of Webster Groves High School. After graduating from Southwest Missouri State University (now Missouri State University) with a degree in journalism in 2004, she worked as a reporter and editor at several newspapers including the Rolla Daily News, Sullivan Journal and the Springfield News-Leader.
She became a reporter at the Webster-Kirkwood Times when she and her husband moved back to St. Louis in the spring of 2011, and has been with the Times ever since. She became an owner and editor-in-chief of the paper in September 2020, after she and longtime employees Kent Tentschert and Randy Drilingas purchased the paper from former publisher Dwight Bitikofer.
Mowers is also the founder of a kindness project called Buzzing Love, which is in memory of her dad, Gary Baranyai, and you can find her Buzzing Love columns in the paper on the first Friday of every month.
Most recently, she became an international best-selling author with her contribution to the anthology, “inHer Power, inHer Wisdom: A Woman’s Guide To Overcoming Challenges and Growing Into Your Power.”
Mowers is also a triathlete, and lives in Maplewood with her husband, Travis, and their three Pomeranians: Mr. Puffers, Teddy and Bear-Bear.
